Bass Rod Recommendations

north carolina largemouth bassBass fishing, whether it be for largemouth or smallmouth, is a technical sport that often employs many types and sizes of baits. Anglers will often keep many rods in their boat to quickly change out to another technique and keep casting, especially when it comes to tournament bass angling. Our rod lineups allow the angler to specialize in techniques, while still having the ability to fish a wide variety of lures, even with one rod. We build rods that achieve excellent action but are durable for long days on the water.

Largemouth and Smallmouth Bass Rods

For spinning rods, mediums are our most popular option. When it comes to casting rods medium-heavy or heavy power are very popular. When we say "heavy" on our rods however, they can still be lightweight, highly sensitive rods...they just have the power to move a larger fish and cast heavier baits than a medium.

As you build out your lineup of bass rods, you will gravitate toward certain rods and certain techniques.

"This is my senko rod and I use these two for cranks. I use that rod only for drop-shotting smallies..."

You'll get anglers that know their rod lineups like the back of their hand, and this helps in getting them into more fish.

Multi-Use Rods

The bank angler or boat angler who choose only to have one or two bass rods, must find rods that can work for many uses. You'll find that there is a lot of options in Lamiglas lineup that suit multi-use. The reason for this is the blank taper designs.bass fishing rod lamiglas buzzbait

Bass Rod Blank Tapers

Lamiglas' designs focus on tip sections that can cast wider ranges of baits. Some bass rod blank designs on the market are designed with too sharp or too flat of bends in the blank - this loses the dynamic range of the blank.

With a properly designed blank, you can get the most of our your casts, but have an efficient hookset. After this has been accomplished, you need a rod that will bend sufficiently with a fish, especially to keep treble hooks pinned etc.

Bass Spinning Rod: XP703S

Bass Casting Rod: XP704C

Why? These rods fall into a line & lure weight that suits most bass anglers well. That medium and medium-heavy range works exceptionally well for fishing jigs, plastics, spinnerbaits, drop-shot and so on. Having a tip section that can cast lighter baits, yet still have lots of power, will result in a lot of bass caught. These XP Bass rods serve those purposes extremely well.
